Last week at St Luke’s College, our student leaders had the opportunity to take part in some valuable leadership training. The team from Youth Leadership Academy Australia came all the way to Karratha to deliver an exciting two-day program, which included sessions for team building, personal development and effective communication.
The Student Executive, House Councils and Peer Mentors collaborated and collectively gathered their ideas to develop four student led initiatives to facilitate at the College this year. These were based around student wellbeing, artworks, lunchtime activities and College recycling.
We thank Wil and Christi from YLA who delivered a thoroughly engaging program which received ample positive feedback from our students. Emily Caspersz, our Head Student, said “the leadership training was extremely helpful in assisting and developing my leadership skills but also all of our student leaders at the College. Wil and Christi delivered a sensational program which was engaging and taught valuable leadership skills and techniques. I would most definitely recommend it for future leaders within the College”.
This opportunity could not have been possible without the backing of the Karratha Education Initiative. We thank them for their continuous support.
