Year 9 Outdoor Education Kayaking Camp
The Year 9 ODED students recently took part in the two-day Kayaking Camp on the East Intercourse Island. The conditions whilst paddling to the island were quite challenging, with choppy seas, paddling into a swift headwind and 38-degree heat! Despite this, all students made it across safely, and spent the evening playing water sports, exploring the island and finally ending the night with a game of spotlight.

Day two was another hot day spent in the sun. After packing up camp, we got back on the kayaks and found refuge in the shade of the nearby island: Sam’s Island. By the end of the second day, all students had passed their kayaking skills assessment and could enjoy the afternoon relaxing on the island. Looking forward to a slightly cooler camp next year!
