Year 7 Orientation Day

The move from Primary School to High School is an important milestone in a student’s educational journey. We know that this time of transition comes with a mix of emotions for both students and parents, from aspects of anxiety and worry through to great excitement. Our desire is to make this transition as smooth as possible. To support this, St Luke’s College ran a Year 7 Orientation Day on
14 November.

Students started the day with a general orientation session. They then spent some time with their house groups which helped them get to know each other a little better. To end the house sessions, students worked together as a team and competed in the balloon caterpillar race. The last part of the day, students were involved in activities from some subjects offered in Year 7.

It was a great day of learning, meeting the teachers, exploring our school environment and an opportunity for students to make new friends. Students loved it so much that they wanted to have an Orientation Day every week!

We are delighted with our bunch of Year 7s for 2020, looking forward to seeing them all again next year.
