Year 12 Retreat

This year the Year 12 Retreat had the theme “Ask Jesus what he wants from you and be brave”. The retreat was held at Dampier Camp School on Tuesday 4 and Wednesday 5 June.

Students spent Tuesday morning cleaning and gardening at St Paul’s Parish Church and volunteering at the St Vinnies store. Fr Tai was very thankful for all the work in both the church and Parish gardens/grounds that students achieved during the morning.

On return to the camp school students had lunch and then, together with House Coordinators, played some “old school” games; egg and spoon, blind taste tasting (baby food) and pass the balloon. The students went with their House coordinators and each House created, using a blank canvas, something to leave behind for the younger students in their House, once they leave. The evening was spent celebrating Mass at St Peters in Dampier, dinner and an exciting and fun quiz night organised by Ms Mandy Tipa and Ms Shannen Mears.

On the second day students gathered to hear from Mr Tom Mitchell, Head of College at St Thomas More College in Perth.  He talked about social justice, the shroud of Turin and shared information about St Thomas More College. Students ended the retreat by spending some time reflecting on both days before heading back to school in the afternoon.
