Friday 23 October was an important day for our graduating Yr 12 class as they took their final steps as a student of St Luke’s College beginning with a heart – warming assembly, followed by a mass at St Paul’s church and ending with an evening spent in the company of their family and friends at the Graduation Dinner held at the Leisureplex.
The theme of the dinner was the adventure that awaits our ‘Pilbara Treasures’.
The room was decorated with Pilbara ‘treasures’ of rocks, red earth, river stones, shells and native plants. We were addressed by Mrs Otway, parents and students, reflecting on the past six years as this group of students were the first Yr 7’s to start their high school years at the College. A delicious buffet dinner followed, finished off with cake and cupcakes. The students had fun taking photos at the Photo Feature wall with their Polaroids and also signed the banner, which will be kept (thanks Jazz!) for their first reunion in years to come.
It was a special day on our calendar, one which was emotional yet a real celebration of our graduates!
