Congratulations to our Year 11 Outdoor Education class who have just successfully passed their Recreational Skippers Ticket this week. Students spent part of the Term learning the theory and associated boating knowledge prior to the theory assessment. Once they all passed the theory assessment, they had to complete 11 tasks on the water demonstrating their competence to safely manage a recreational vessel. The Dampier Archipelago provided a perfect environment for this with some ideal conditions that allowed the students to practice their learned skills in a real-world setting.
Thanks to Luke Hartland from NWTIS for his patience, knowledge and manner in working with the students. All students passed the practical due to their hard work, commitment and the professional and supportive environment on the boat. Special mention and congratulations also go to Miss Rowe for her successful completion and support for our students.
