Last week, twenty Year 10 students attended the Outdoor Education camp.
Day 1 began with some guided mountain biking around the local trails of Karratha. The less experienced riders spent the morning with Mr Avard, honing their skills on downhill runs while the more experienced group, led by Venne Kurilowski and Muzza from Rock Steady Riding, attacked more challenging terrain.
The afternoon took us to Dampier where we boarded a dinghy and toured the Leeuwin Tall ship, currently moored off Dampier. This was a great experience to check out the sail training ship and provided a very wet return trip.
That night students enjoyed damper around the campfire before heading off to bed. The next morning, we returned to Dampier and worked with Fairbridge Camp School on developing teamwork and communication skills by building rafts.
Thanks to Mr Bradley and Miss Hall for their assistance over the two days and the students for their great attitude and getting involved.
