In Week 4 our STEM Academy and Year 11 Biology students had the opportunity to get involved with West Pilbara Turtle Monitoring with a training day. These students were taken out to Boat Beach in Wickham and learnt about the tracks and nests that multiple species of turtles make when coming up to our local beaches to lay eggs. This was followed by a theory session back at the College, focusing on turtle nesting and conservation. A big thank you to Sarah McDonald from Parks and Wildlife Service, Pilbara WA for giving up her time to provide this experience for our students. We look forward to hopefully working with you again soon.
