On 4 December North Regional TAFE coordinated ‘Try-A-Trade’, a 3-day program in Carpentry here at our Engineering workshop. The program is designed as a first step for those who demonstrate an interest in a career within the building and construction industry and provides students with a taste of a trade area.
Some of our Year 9 students were involved with the 3-day program offering hands-on experience working with carpentry materials, tools and equipment. Students participated in developing a basic understanding of OHS standards, workplace expectations, and planning and organising work, giving them a preview of the carpentry and painting trades. Looking forward to seeing the result of all your hard work and learning!
