This link will take you to some practice mechanical testing questions, it would be worthwhile completing some of these in preparation for the Rio Tinto Testing as you will be sent a link to complete this following your application, you can complete the practice questions as many times as you like.  Please make sure that you allow at least two hours to complete the Rio Tinto testing and you are in a quiet room with no interruptions so that you can concentrate, the tests can be done in one sitting – or over a few days. It’s your choice. There will be two different tests sent in two different emails at different times, so please check emails and complete both sets of tests

Once you have completed the testing you will be notified to confirm if you have been selected to attend an interview.  If you are successful in gaining an interview, please contact our team so that we can provide advice on how to prepare.

Prepare for the technical & behavioural interview using the STAR technique:

  • Situation (set the scene)
  • Task (what you were doing)
  • Action (exactly what you did)
  • Result (how this worked)

Prepare examples about safety, teamwork and how you have helped others.

Show motivation about the trade you are applying for – research online, do some work experience.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs Potter.
