The enthusiasm and competitive spirit for the 2022 Math-0-Mania competition was as apparent as ever.
On Saturday, 27 August over 40 students gathered at St Luke’s to test out their problem-solving skills.
There were ten teams competing in the team events, fighting robots and the great race. The individual events included an enrichment Mathematics paper and a card game called German Whist.
Our overall winner for the day was Ben Cragan (Year 7) and Runner up Cam Buzzard (Year 7).
Year 7: 1st, 2nd and 3rd places were Sofia Barker-Ruiz, Elina Trost and Aishleen Kaur respectively
Year 8: 1st place was Aarnav Virkar, 2nd was a 4-way draw between Ailey Peacock, William Holmes, Toby Nunn and Leiani Fenner
Year 9: 1st, 2nd and 3rd places went to Brian Nguyen, Cale Buzzard and Cailen Chandler respectively
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd team prizes went to Team 3 (Siona Dale, Aditya Shelke, Andrea Smith and Achintha Senadeera), Team 1 (Indiana Lucev, Zavian Zimmerle, Mitchell Watts and Cale Buzzard) and Team 4 (Elina Trost, Quaid Creado-Williams, Ruby Freegard and Brian Nguyen).
It was a fun day full of activity.
