This term Harding House has focused on charity work and fundraising for Communio which is Bishop Michael’s appeal to assist those in need in the Geraldton Diocese, which St Luke’s College is a part of.
This year’s theme is “Offer hope to others” and it is through prayer, raising awareness and fundraising that students not only learn about the importance of serving others, but also that they can have a positive impact and offer hope for people struggling. Students have been learning about Communio and the care agencies within the Geraldton Diocese in Religious Education classes and in Week 6 students attended a Communio Mass. So far, Harding House have run a Mother’s Day raffle, a money trail and sausage sizzle to fundraise and a bake sale is coming up in Week 9. Students across all year groups have been eager to participate in service learning and contribute to the Communio cause. We know the funds raised will be distributed to the many care agencies within our area that work to assist those in need.
