Our graduating Year 12 class took their final steps as students of St Luke’s College on Friday, 22 October. This important day began with a heartwarming assembly where the whole school was able to farewell the cohort, followed by a Mass at St Paul’s church in the evening. The graduates were able to then enjoy the company of their family and friends at the Graduation Dinner held at the REAP.
The theme of the dinner was the adventure that awaits our ‘Pilbara Treasures’.
The room was decorated with Pilbara ‘treasures’ of rocks, red earth, river stones, shells and native plants. We were addressed by Mrs Otway, several of our well-spoken students and then both students and parents were able to reflect on the high school years during inspirational speeches by Viv Adams and Tony Wear. A delicious buffet dinner followed, finished off with cake and cupcakes. The students had fun taking photos at the photo feature wall and also signed the banner, which will be kept for their first reunion in years to come.
It was a special day on our calendar, one which was emotional and yet a real celebration of our graduates!
