2019 World Skills Cooking Competition

On Wednesday, 18 September five of our students took part in the 2019 World Skills Australia Regional Cooking Competition.

Jake Munro (Year 11), Hayden Watts (Year 11), Tanisha Moyo (Year 10), Bella-Mary Ugiagbe (Year 10) and Jordan Wickerson (Year 10) were tasked with preparing a 3-course meal. Students were given the weekend to practice the recipes and different cooking techniques before having to compete.

Students from Yandeyarra Remote Community School and Karratha Senior High also participated in the competition which was held at KSHS.

The competition was very close right to the end.  Students were judged on their work organisation and management, personal presentation and hygiene, workstation hygiene, food storage, food preparation skills, cooking methods and finally their presentation and tasting.

Congratulations to Tanisha Moyo who won 3rd place and to Jake Munro who finished in 4th place.
