We had a comfortable 7-hour trip on the Thursday morning, before setting up camp at the Tom Price Community Hall in the early afternoon. From there we moved to the Senior High School for twilight high jump and long jump events. We had some very successful “jumpers”, some of whom are mentioned below as new recordholders, and then headed back to our camp for the night.
The next morning, we had breakfast and packed all our gear for the main carnival, held at the Clem Thompson oval. We saw several fantastic throws and runs from our athletes, as well as some extraordinary individual efforts from Newman, Port Hedland, Tom Price and Karratha High students. At the end of the day, we just missed 1st place in the overall event behind Karratha High, but still took home several trophies for winning age groups.
Thank you to all students who attended for representing our College in outstanding fashion. I’d also like to thank Miss Tipa, Miss Mears and Mr Perer for the time and effort they put in to make the trip such a success.
