The school of choice for our community, one of the best schools in Western Australia, and a driving force in the development of the dynamic Pilbara region.
We take pride in the all-round achievement of our students and strive to instil high personal goals through various academic and sporting initiatives and extra curricula programmes.
The Religious Education learning area at St Luke's is where the foundations of Catholic values are presented and made relevant to young people's lives. Through our Religious Education programmes we endeavour to share the Catholic faith by promoting knowledge and understanding of the Gospel, and how those who follow Christ are called to live that Gospel in society today.
As a curriculum area, Religious Education demands the same rigour and expectations of the other curriculum areas. It has formal and informal assessments as well as exams. The content is mandated by the Bishops of Western Australia and our programmes are written to encourage a sound knowledge of the Gospel values and Catholic Church teaching.
Students in Year 11 and 12 study the Religion and Life Course of Study. This course counts towards a student's Western Australia Certificate of Education (WACE). Students who study the stage two or stage three courses in Year 12 sit an external examination and this can contribute towards their ATAR score for entry into tertiary institutions.
